About
Hello! My name is Rebecca and I'm so glad you've found your way to The Patterned Paper Plate.
A little about me. I'm a 24-year-old girl with a Psychology degree who is currently working full-time while getting my Master's degree. I live in New Hampshire in a cute little apartment with my fabulous husband and my extremely lovable cat. In addition to all of that, I also happen to love baking and crafting. And that is the very crux of this blog: crafting and baking are not just for the professionals! I am living proof of that! I am here to give you ideas, tips, and inspiration on card-making, cake baking, canvas painting and everything in between.
Here are some questions you may not have even wanted to know the answer to, but which I will answer for you anyway!
1. What made you decide to start blogging?
As I mentioned above, every day I go to my easy-going office job and while I love what I do and like my coworkers very much, I needed some kind of creative outlet in my life and decided to give blogging a try. I also enjoy writing, but never am able to commit enough to write something very long so I thought I might be able to handle some short, witty blog posts. Don't worry, I know I'm not really that witty.
2. Why call it The Patterned Paper Plate?
Well, this one has a few pieces. I liked the idea of a paper plate, because typically paper plates are associated with the exact opposite of fine dining. That really encapsulates the kind of baking and cooking I do. I am here to show you that you can serve up some pretty good stuff on your paper plates. I also liked the references to paper and patterns since a lot of the crafting I do is card-making where I use an array of colorful papers. Also alliteration is fun and catchy so that's why we've got some triple P action going on.
3. Who/what got you into crafting and baking?
My momma! My mother is a crafter as well and I have always been used to us making our own centerpieces for parties and making Christmas ornaments each year for the extended family. At least 2/3 of my craft supplies are hand-me-downs from my mom so you can thank her for my craftiness! She also bakes occasionally, but typically just for the holidays. I think I missed baked goods for the other 10 months of the year and that is why I picked up baking and become the little baker of the family at a pretty young age. My first career aspiration was actually to own a bakery for dogs!
Anyways, thank you so much for taking the time to read a little bit about me. Have a wonderful day!
